ARLINGTON, Texas – International Bowling Campus Youth Development has awarded Bowler’s Ed kits, which has curriculum and equipment to teach the sport of bowling, to 24 schools and organizations.

The Bowler’s Ed kits provide educators with the tools needed to engage children in a true bowling experience by providing a bowling-center atmosphere inside a classroom or gymnasium. The easy-to-follow curriculum features activities to enhance cardiovascular health, coordination and endurance as children are introduced to the lifelong sport of bowling.

“Schools and organizations are always seeking ways to teach children through fun activities and this is a great opportunity for IBC Youth Development to bring the sport of bowling to elementary-age children,” said Melissa McDaniel, chair of the IBC Youth Committee. “The Bowler’s Ed kits have everything needed to teach bowling, and hopefully it will spark the desire of the participants to visit a bowling center and take part in a youth league.”

New York State USBC will fund the cost of one Bowler’s Ed kit in its state.

Bowler’s Ed kits are valued at $2,200 and the schools and organizations were selected based on submitted applications.

Since 2009, the Bowler’s Ed Grant Program, with assistance from the New York State USBC and Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America member centers, has subsidized more than $450,000 in costs for more than 200 in-school bowling equipment grants to support schools and organizations in 41 states.
