ARLINGTON, Texas – Bowler’s Ed grants, which provide mobile bowling equipment and curriculum to help teach children the sport of bowling, have been awarded 28 schools and organizations through International Bowling Campus Youth Development.

The Murfreesboro (Tennessee) City Elementary School District will receive 12 grants, with 10 of the bowling kits going to extended school programs in the district.

Lanes, Trains, and Automobiles, a local bowling center in Murfreesboro, will fund four of the 12 Bowler’s Ed kits which cost $1,450. New York State USBC will fund the kit that will be awarded to the Lockport City School District in Lockport, New York.

“The Bowler’s Ed kits are such a great way to introduce children to our sport and we have seen how this program becomes an integral part of the schools and organizations that request them,” IBC Youth Committee chair Melissa McDaniel.

The 12 schools in the Murfreesboro City Elementary School District to receive kits are:

• Black Fox Elementary Extended School Program
• Bradley Academy Extended School Program
• Cason Lane Academy Extended School Program
• Discovery School at Bellwood
• Erma Siegel Elementary School
• Hobgood Extended School Program
• John Pittard Elementary Extended School Program
• Mitchell Nielson Extended School Program
• Northfield Elementary School Extended School Program
• Overall Creek Elementary Extended School Program
• Reeves-Rogers Extended School Program
• Scales Elementary Extended School Program

The Bowler’s Ed bowling grants help schools, youth groups and other organizations teach students the lifelong sport of bowling. Besides a step-by-step teaching progression for students, Bowler’s Ed kits have activities to enhance cardiovascular health, coordination and endurance by using mobile bowling equipment.

The other 16 grants will go to:

Bowler’s Ed Grants have been awarded to more than 60 applicants in 2016.
