2025-2026 Dexter High School All-American Team announced

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Dexter High School All-American Team has been announced for the 2025-2026 school year, with Ava Doucet of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Tyler Simpson of Altoona, Iowa, named as captains.

The teams were selected by Dexter Bowling in consultation with the National Selection Committee. Each team is composed of five student-athletes who had to participate on a recognized interscholastic high school bowling team during the 2025-2026 school year.

Applicants were required to have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and submit a resume of their bowling and academic achievements, along with an essay, to be considered for the team. They also were required to provide recommendation letters from their coaches or athletic directors and at least one additional letter of recommendation.

Each team member will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Simpson and Doucet were announced as captains during Sunday’s Dexter Award Ceremony luncheon as part of the 2026 Junior Gold Championships in Minneapolis. Both captains will receive an additional $500 scholarship and take home the Bud Clapsaddle Award, named for the former Dexter Bowling vice president who oversaw selection of the first 12 teams.

The girls’ team includes:

Julia Casama (Bartlett, Tennessee) – A standout in the classroom and on the lanes, Casama is a junior at St. Benedict at Auburndale with a 3.93 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society, English, Science and French honor societies and Mu Alpha Theta while also serving as a student ambassador and holding leadership roles as class treasurer and Prom Committee Fundraising Chair. Casama won the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Division II individual state championship during the 2024-2025 season and finished fifth at the state tournament in 2025-2026. She also earned consecutive Girls Bowler of the Year honors from The Daily Memphian and Commercial Appeal and back-to-back team MVP awards. Casama has volunteered with FILAMemphis since 2014 and served organizations including St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen, the Mid-South Food Bank and St. Jude Marathon. The future captain of her high school team plans to bowl collegiately while pursuing a pre-medical course of study.

Evyn Dahlinger (Brentwood, Tennessee) – Since first taking up bowling in 2022, Dahlinger has made a rapid rise in the sport. The St. Cecilia Academy junior finished sixth at the 2026 Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Division II State Individual Championships after placing 22nd in 2025 and earned a spot on the All-Middle Region Girls First Team. She holds school records for high game and highest season average and helped St. Cecilia qualify for the state team championships in each of her first three seasons. Dahlinger carries a 3.7 weighted GPA and is an officer in the Science and Medicine Club, a multi-instrumentalist in the St. Cecilia Chamber Ensemble and a volunteer with Saddle Up!, assisting with equine activities for children with disabilities. The future team captain also is working to establish a Unified Bowling program at St. Cecilia and plans to bowl collegiately while pursuing her goal of becoming a pediatric neurosurgeon.

Ava Doucet (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) – Doucet has quickly established herself as one of Louisiana’s top youth bowlers since taking up the sport in May 2023. The St. Joseph’s Academy senior won the 2026 Louisiana High School Athletic Association State Singles Championship with a 223 average, earned district MVP honors and helped her team reach the state semifinals. She also won the Louisiana USBC U18 Scratch Championships and multiple regional youth events during the 2025-2026 season. Doucet carries a 4.44 weighted GPA and has been recognized as a National College Board Recognition recipient, AP Scholar with Honor and Scholastic Art and Writing Gold Key Award winner. She serves as bowling team captain and vice president of Student Ministry and has volunteered with Miracle League, Night to Shine, Special Olympics and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Doucet plans to study marketing and hopes to use social media to promote bowling and encourage younger athletes and individuals with disabilities to become involved in the sport.



Kyndallynn Hood (Bellefontaine, Ohio) – A state championship highlighted Hood’s final season at Bellefontaine High School. She won the 2026 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I individual state title along with a sectional championship and her second consecutive CBC Kenton Trail Bowler of the Year honor. Hood also owns top-10 finishes at the Junior Gold Championships, High School Bowling National Championship and a Professional Women’s Bowling Association Regional event and recorded a state-record 788 series during the 2025-2026 season. She carries a 4.146 GPA and is involved with the French Honor Society, orchestra and HOSA. A USBC Bronze coach, Hood works with young bowlers, donates equipment to those in need and uses social media to promote the sport. She will continue her academic and bowling careers at Mount Mercy University, where she plans to study nursing.

Aiden Ryan (Deer Park, Texas) – A former nationally ranked softball player, Ryan has transferred her competitive experience to the lanes and quickly developed into one of Texas’ top youth bowlers. The La Porte High School junior won the 2026 girls district championship, finished second at regionals and placed 11th at the Texas High School Bowling Club State Championships. She also won three SATX Youth Bowlers Tour events, captured the Greater Houston USBC Girls Division title and qualified for the Junior Gold Championships for the second consecutive year. Ryan carries a 3.6 GPA, is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteers with the youth program at Armadilla Lanes. As the only girl on her school’s varsity team, she hopes to encourage more young female athletes to take up bowling and discover the opportunities available through the sport.

The boys’ team features:

William Crader (Jonesboro, Arkansas) – Crader closed his career at Valley View High School with 5A All-State and All-Conference tournament honors in 2026. The team captain averaged 217 and rolled a 300 during his senior season, with both marks leading Northeast Arkansas across all classifications and setting school records. Crader helped Valley View qualify for the state tournament in each of his four seasons and was named KAIT8 Boys Athlete of the Month in January 2026. He carries a 4.3 GPA, earned a 35 on the ACT and has been recognized as a National Merit Commended Student and AP Scholar with Honor. An Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow, Crader has contributed hundreds of community-service hours and led a project to renovate and stock his church’s food pantry. He plans to major in computer science and minor in mathematics while remaining involved in bowling as a competitor and mentor.

Jake Paulson (Hudson, Wisconsin) – Three trips to the individual state tournament highlighted Paulson’s high school bowling career at New Life Academy. The senior finished sixth individually and helped his team place fourth at the state tournament during the 2025-2026 season. A three-time High School Bowling All-Stars qualifier, Paulson also qualified for the Junior Gold Championships, recorded a top-20 overall finish at a Storm Youth Championships event and won a Twin Cities Youth Championships All-Events scratch title. He carries a 4.3 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. Away from bowling, Paulson has participated in 11 school theater productions and volunteered with Operation Help, Feed My Starving Children and Operation Paperback. He hopes to pursue a career in the bowling industry with a focus on organizing youth events and creating positive competitive experiences.

Tyler Simpson (Altoona, Iowa) – Leadership has been a defining part of Simpson’s senior year at Southeast Polk High School. He served as Iowa DECA president and Southeast Polk DECA president while helping his bowling team to a fifth-place finish at the 2026 Iowa Team State Bowling Tournament. Simpson averaged 219, finished third at the individual CIML Conference Tournament, earned Class 3A Boys Second Team All-District honors and qualified for the Junior Gold Championships for the first time. He carries a 4.25 weighted GPA, ranks among the top students in his graduating class and is a member of the National Honor Society. Simpson will continue his academic and bowling careers at St. Ambrose University, where he plans to study sports management. He hopes to become a professional bowler and eventually own and manage a bowling center.

Anden Sutter (Omaha, Nebraska) – A four-year varsity bowler at Millard West High School, Sutter built his high school career around success and leadership. The 2025 Nebraska Class A High School Individual State champion has served as a captain or co-captain since his sophomore season and averaged 216 in 2026. He also has recorded a 300 game and a high series of 791 while winning multiple Nebraska Youth Bowling Partnership events. Sutter has competed in Unified Bowling throughout high school, helping his team win a gold medal in its division at a national tournament. He carries a 4.2 weighted GPA, has taken numerous AP courses and participates in the Millard STEM Career Academy. Sutter plans to pursue aerospace or mechanical engineering and hopes to become a certified bowling coach and create tournament opportunities for developing competitors.

Drake Wait (Stillwater, Minnesota) – Already the captain of the 2024-2025 Dexter High School All-American Team, Wait continued adding to his accomplished resume during his senior season. A four-time captain at Stillwater Area High School, he earned first-team all-state honors after recording the highest fill percentage in Minnesota and was named the East Metro Conference’s Most Outstanding Player. Wait also won events on the Minnesota Junior Bowlers Tour and Junior Bowlers Scholarship Tour during the 2025-2026 season. A two-time Minnesota Junior Bowlers Tour Bowler of the Year, he owns eight certified 300 games and five certified 800 series. Wait carries a 3.788 GPA, plays tuba in his school’s music program and holds a black belt in karate. He also serves on the Twin Cities USBC Youth Committee, helps organize a local Sport-shot sweeper and gives lessons to youth and adult bowlers. Wait will continue his academic and bowling careers at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he plans to study business.
