2012 USBC Open prize checks in the mail
The 2012 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships provided many memorable moments during its 151-day run at the Baton Rouge River Center in Baton Rouge, La., and now, more than $5 million in prize money is on its way to tournament participants.
Prize checks were placed in the mail Tuesday morning and will go to team captains, who will distribute them to their bowlers. This year's event featured nearly 60,000 bowlers, and more than half (32,650) will receive a share of the multi-million-dollar prize fund. Checks include winnings from the USBC Open Championships, yearlong brackets and side events and the Bowlers Journal Championships.
