Castellano was the first to roll a 300 game on live television during an Eastern All-Star league session at Newark Recreation on Oct. 4, 1953. His five victories in major match game competition - the World-Telegram and Newsday Eastern Open, each of 96 to 124 games in length - is an achievement never equaled by an East Coast bowler. He was a star with the Faber Cement Blocks, whose lineups included fellow USBC Hall members Lou Campi, Al (Lindy) Faragalli, Tony Sparando and Chuck Pezzano.
