Violet "Billy" Simon teamed with Erna Haufler to win the 1935 USBC Women's Championships doubles-event title. Simon is credited with introducing bowling to the San Antonio area, and she was instrumental in organizing local associations, as well as the Texas Women's Bowling Association.
