"Tomorrow" arrived very soon for Mildred Ignizio in 1967. She was named the winner of the Alberta E. Crowe Star of Tomorrow award and went on to win her first USBC Queens title that year and was named Bowler of the Year. Mrs. Ignizio, a left-hander, proved that 1967 was no fluke by winning consecutive USBC Queens titles in 1970 and 1971. She also captured USBC Women's Championships doubles titles in 1971 and 1973, team titles in 1970 and 1972, and all-events in 1972. She led the nation in league average for four consecutive seasons from 1966-67 to 1960-70. Her 219 average in 1967-68 was an all-time high. "Marvelous Millie" won the 1973 U.S. Women's Open and was the first woman to roll a perfect game in professional play.
